Quinault Childs is a research manager at the Institute for the Future (IFTF) in the Food Futures Lab. His background in food and agriculture entrepreneurship includes co-founding a company that uses insects to upcycle food waste into animal feed, value chain development in Peruvian organic cacao, and scaling up a vertically-integrated olive oil company. At IFTF, he researches the how new technologies will change the way we interact with food, emerging eater behaviors that are laying the groundwork for the next decade of food design, and developments in sustainability that will determine the future of our food system and our environment. His work is a combination of qualitative research, forecasting, and design that results in engaging ways to understand the future implications of today’s developments.
Quinault holds a B.S. in Human Factors Engineering and an M.S. in Agriculture, Food, and Environment—both from Tufts University in Boston, MA.
